My name is Erwin and I operate the MAYDAY! blog and family of RC-related websites. I live in Miami in the Sunshine State, Florida. I began flying RC in 2009 with a HobbyZone Super Cub. My interest grew more and more and, as my wife says, I’m obsessed with the hobby. I have always loved flight and RC so I figured I’d combine the two.
The MAYDAY! name came one day at a party when a couple of RC friends were trying to come up with a name for a club or group of flyers. We were all learning to fly and crashing was our priority, it seemed. “Mayday” sounded funny so we decided on it. Eventually only I took RC flight seriously and kept the spirit of “MAYDAY!” alive with a website and decals on my models and on my car. It is no longer a club by any means as it consists of me, myself and I.
